Below are three airports within the Baltimore-Washington, DC Metropolitan area.

Please be aware that all conference participants must make their own travel arrangements for the event. Travel expenses to attend this workshop may be paid from the federal adult education allotment, if state policy permits.

Ronald Reagan National Airport (20 miles from hotel)

Metro Directions
Each set of directions has a rush hour fare of $3.90 and a non rush hour fare of $2.35, as of summer of 2006. Each route takes approximately 45 minutes. Visit the Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority (Metro) Web site at http://www.wmata.com for more information.

Blue Line Directions
Follow the airport signs to the National Airport Metro Station. Take the Blue line train in the direction of the Largo Town Center Metro Station. Get off the Blue Line train at the Metro Center Metro Station. Go up the escalators and take the Red Line train in the direction of Shady Grove. If a train approaches that is in the direction of Grosvenor/Strathmore you will have to wait for the next train to come. This train will not take you all the way to the White Flint Metro Station. Get off the Red Line train at the White Flint Metro Station. When you reach the top of the escalator, follow the tunnel under Rockville Pike. Proceed up a final escalator and you will see the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center one block in front of you.

Alternate Yellow Line Directions
Follow the airport signs to the National Airport Metro Station. Take the Yellow Line train in the direction of the Mt Vernon Square. Get off the Yellow Line train at the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro Station. Go up the escalators and take the Red Line train in the direction of Shady Grove. If a train approaches that is in the direction of Grosvenor/Strathmore you will have to wait for the next train to come. This train will not take you all the way to the White Flint Metro Station. Get off the Red Line train at the White Flint Metro Station. When you reach the top of the escalator, follow the tunnel under Rockville Pike. Proceed up a final escalator and you will see the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center one block in front of you.

Taxicab Service
Taxicab stands are conveniently located near the Arrivals (baggage claim) exits of each terminal. Dispatchers at each stand will help you select a taxicab based on your destination in Washington DC, Virginia, or Maryland. No advance reservations are required—service is on a first-come, first-served basis. The approximate fare to North Bethesda is $30-40 one way.

Super Shuttle Service
Upon arrival at the airport between 6 a.m. and 12 a.m. (midnight), proceed to the outside curb and look for the Super Shuttle Guest Coordinator. After hours, call 1-800-258-3826 and press 1 for dispatch or 2 for reservations.

Take George Washington Parkway to I-495 North
Merge onto I-270 and take exit 1/Democracy Blvd.
Follow Democracy Blvd. East
Turn left on MD-187/Old Georgetown Rd.
Turn right on Executive Blvd.
Turn left onto Marinelli Rd.

Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (36 miles from hotel)

Taxicab Service
The BWI taxi stand is located just outside of the baggage claim area of the Lower Level of the BWI Airport Terminal. Please note that this service is available from BWI only. For cab service to BWI, please consult your local cab company. The approximate fare to North Bethesda is $70 one way.

Car Rental Services
BWI Airport has opened a spacious, rental car facility providing one-stop rental car shopping for our customers. The facility is located at Stoney Run Road and New Ridge Road. Free shuttle service carries customers to and from the Airport. Passengers arriving on flights should take the free shuttle from the lower level terminal for a ten-minute ride to the new facility. When returning a vehicle, look for highway directional signs to the facility. A shuttle will take you to the terminal. All transactions occur at the new facility.

Super Shuttle Service
Proceed to the SuperShuttle ground transportation counters, located on the lower level between Southwest Airlines luggage carousels numbers 1-5 at the Pier A / B baggage claim, and next to baggage claim #10 at Pier C. When your ticket number is called, proceed outside to board the next available van. Driving from Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI)

Take I-195 West to Exit 4B/I-95 South toward Washington
Follow I-95 South to Exit 27/I-495 West toward Silver Spring/Bethesda
At exit 34, merge onto MD-355 North/Rockville Pike
Turn left on Marinelli Rd.

Washington Dulles International Airport (25 miles from hotel)

Metro Directions
Metrorail is the region’s rapid-transit system, providing access to Downtown Washington, DC and other destinations. A rail line to Dulles Airport is currently in the design phase. At present, the nearest Metrorail station is the West Falls Church Station on the Orange Line. Direct transportation to this station is available from the Washington Flyer Coach Service. Enjoy a comfortable, climate-controlled ride equipped with reclining seats and ample luggage space. Each coach is handicapped accessible. Buses depart approximately every 30 minutes and boarding announcements are made inside the airport.

Take the Orange line train in the direction of the New Carrolton Metro Station. Get off the Orange Line train at the Metro Center Metro Station. Board the Red Line train in the direction of Shady Grove. If a train approaches that is in the direction of Grosvenor/Strathmore you will have to wait for the next train to come. Taxicab Service
Washington Flyer Taxicabs serve Dulles International Airport exclusively with 24-hour service to and from the airport. Taxicabs accept American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard, Discover Card, and Visa, and provide transportation at metered rates to any destination in metropolitan Washington. No reservation is required to use this service. Simply come to the "Taxi Passengers" area on the lower level of the Main Terminal, where a Taxicab Dispatcher is on duty 24 hours a day. Wheelchair-accessible minibuses can accommodate one person in his or her wheelchair plus three additional passengers. Smoking and non-smoking vehicles are available by request. The approximate fare to North Bethesda is approximately $50-60 one way.

Stay Straight on Dulles Airport Access Rd.
Merge onto VA-267 East towards I-495/exit 18-19, Baltimore/Richmond
At exit 18, merge onto I-495 North toward Baltimore
Follow to exit 38, I-270 spur North toward Rockville/Frederick
Take exit 1/Democracy Blvd.
Follow Democracy Blvd. East
Turn left on Old Georgetown Rd.
Turn right on Executive Blvd.
Turn left onto Marinelli Rd.

Take I-95 North to exit 170 A-B/I-395 North toward Washington/I-495/Tysons Corner

Take Route 50 West toward Washington
Follow to exit 7B, I-495 North/Capitol Beltway
